The Southern Tasmanian Bowls Association was formed in 1905 as the controlling body of bowls in the South of the state. Twenty Nine of Tasmania’s seventy four clubs clubs are affiliated with the STBA which now trades as Bowls Tasmania South Inc.
Approximately forty four percent of the States lawn bowlers belong to Southern clubs.
For the past three years Bowls Tasmania South has been a unified body representing both male and female lawn bowlers and almost all constituent clubs have now unified their administrations.
Bowls Tasmania South is affiliated with Bowls Tasmania along with the Northern Tasmanian and North Western Associations.
